D275-CLASS I & II DIAGNOSIS

Description:

This Course combines Diagnosis D270 and D280

Diagnosis D270 develops an in depth coverage of Class I malocclusions, how to recognize through the U.S.D.I. Cephalometric system of analysis and how to treat them.  Angles classifications are reviewed and the dental and skeletal origins of Class I malocclusions are defined.  Etiology of Class I is studied , including facial, dental and skeletal types.  Case studies are analyzed and reviewed, with particular consideration being given to soft tissue analysis, skeletal aspects and pertinent cephalometric analyses. 

Diagnosis D280 develops basic diagnostic procedures, goals and strategies for treatment of Class II malocclusions.  The course id\s designed to allow the general practitioner to develop the essential diagnostic discipline and treatment planning procedures necessary  before  patient treatments begun.  Additional related topics are: reliable predictors of malocclusions, the dysphasic approach, consequences of malocclusion and a differential diagnosis of Class II orthodontic cases.

OBJECTIVE:

The student will be able to diagnose an treatment plan all major Class I & Class II malocclusions, including those with cross bite, deep bite, crowding or spacing, and choosing among a variety of extraction or non- extraction approaches.
