AM662-ADVANCED STRAIGHT WIRE MECHANICS
Description
This course provides a review of basic mechanics such as
bracketing positioning, arch wire progressions, and the proper use of high and
low load deflection arch wires.
The use of Cephalometric measurements to aid in
determining prescribed mechanics will be demonstrated in detail.
Advanced mechanics, including incisor intrusion, upper
and lower arch expansion, space closure, and upper molar distalization are
emphasized.
Demonstrated treatment modalities include: utility
arches, RPE's, TPA's, magnets, headgear, and repositioning appliances.
Slide documentation will demonstrate the progression
of numerous cases from initial diagnosis through retention.
Formulation of treatment plans and goals will e
discussed with an emphasis on the proper use of appliances to achieve these
goals.
