AM350-ADVANCED STRAIGHT WIRE MECHANICS

Description
The purpose of this course is to present more and more efficient mechanics for the Straight Wire appliance.  This will be done on a phase by phase basis. A review will be done on the classic Straight Wire mechanics with emphasis on bracket placement and the newer ideas concerning bracket prescriptions and design.  Problems associated with these mechanics will be discussed and how they impact treatment decisions.

The course will also involve an in depth presentation of the Thermal Nickel- Titanium products that are now available.  These will include arch wires, coiled springs and expansion appliances.  The ability of the dental practitioner to finish cases faster with less patient discomfort will be highlighted.  Auxiliary devices like TMA "T" loop will also be included.  Cases will be evaluated that utilize both fixed and functional appliances simultaneously.
